The Microsoft Certification Program is a long accepted industry standard which has been proven over time. Certification requires proven product and application design knowledge. Database Administrator covers design and implementation of MS SQL Server databases, System Engineer covers MS Windows NT and 2000 Network Operating Systems, Solution Developer covers programming design and implementation for Microsoft systems and the Trainer certification is required to teach Microsoft Official Curriculum.

Sun Microsystems managed the Sun Certified Java Programmer certifications. This certification attests that an individual has mastered the skills necessary to program both applications and applets using the Java Programming language.

The Certified Technical Trainer Plus certification, recently acquired by Comptia from the Chauncey Group, attests to the skills of individuals teaching technical courses to the business community.
